Labas visiems!
We have district meeting weekly, there are 6 elders in our district.
I am rotating my shoes, and no, I'm not fat yet.
This week was fairly uneventful, but here's a rundown of what happened.
While walking around we have seen quite a few groups of teenagers walking around with old like tape cassette boombox deals, except they are hooked up to iPods usually, pretty sweet looking though. Everyone seems to look more and more like they are from the 80's.
We also saw a large amount of street music players. A guitar and cello combination, with a weird interprative dancer. An accordion player, and a traditional Lithuanian guitar player singing in a guttural voice.
A guy contacted us and told us that our bodies are temples, so we can't eat at McDonald's.
A lady asked if we were American, and then Mormons. She then asked if we were getting converts, we said we were trying, to which she responded 'Don't"
Also talked for 30-45 min to a Pentecostal Pastor, from America. He started off rather rude, but it calmed down and became a fairly good spiritual discussion, he probably wont change, but at least we got to teach a bit and help others feel the Spirit.
While harvesting a dome, with a call thing on the front, we call a dome-o-phone, some kids stood outside while we were calling all the apartments. Some old ladies yelled at them to stop and they said we aren't doing it. It was just funny.
We had another lesson with Evaldas, went really well again. He's so humble and willing to listen and accept changes into his life. It's wonderful to see people accept change and desire to become better people.
Here's a bit of some characters in Vilnius:
Hagrid- a big bum, who wears olive green and has a huge beard and hair that comes up on the back of his head kinda like a flower pot. He wears sandles and walks around with his cane over his shoulder holding his plastic bags of stuff.
Techno Bike Guy- a guy who rides around on a bicycle with speakers blasting old Russian techno music
Chris and Bill- a couple of Americans that live here. Chris was in the military and has a ponytail and tatoos of the american flag and superman's symbol on his arms. He's huge, from Vegas and jokes around with us whenever we see him. Bill has lived here for 10 yrs and doesn't work, flies remote planes.
Thanks for your prayers and writings. Good luck as you start school/do whatever you need to do. I pray for you and appreciate your prayers. Lithuania is a beautiful place, especially as it starts to cool down.
Love,
Vyresnysis Conor Hiltonas
